Brisbane producer and man of song Arthur Wimble is (perhaps unsurprisingly) discussing matters of the heart on his commendable new release 'Hearts'. Currently streaming via Sydney label TEEF Records and following his 2015 EP I Love My Love, this latest cut is an electro whirlpool rich in retro patters. Wimble possesses the honeyed voice of an old and wise soul, which when fused with the icy crisp beats and twinkly piano, is heightened both whimsically and beautifully. The tempo ever so subtly evolves throughout the song and as we draw to the close, his vocals soar, carrying ‘Hearts’ to a synth-laden, melodic finale. Ears to the ground for this one. -LB
